Why wouldn't you want to weekend in Wisconsin?

I met Courtney my very first day at BYU.  I don't even know if she remembers this but I do.  Courtney and her wonderful twin Kirstin were in my Freshman Orientation group and of course I took immediate notice because they are twins and seemed intriguing and fun so naturally we became great friends.  Tim and I were lucky enough to have Courtney, who lives all the way in Portland, come all the way to Wisconsin for the weekend.  We went on a tour of Marquette and I was able to show Courtney the beautiful new building I work in as well as the beautiful chapels on campus, big and small.

Joan of Arc Chapel:
I was nervous to stand at the alter.  I don't know if it is allowed.  It is such a peaceful and beautiful chapel and sadly it was Tim's first time ever going in:
This is Zilber Hall which is the building I work in now:

The Sprecher Tour is a must do in Milwaukee, especially if you don't drink alcohol since they have all you can drink soda after the tour.  We tried to get Tim to do his 7 second rootbeer chug but he was being bashful.

Courtney is a foodie so we tried hard to show her Milwaukee's finest.  We took her three of our favorite places:

1. Abu's Jerusalem of the Gold
2. Le Reve-Patisserie & Cafe

3. Kopp's Frozen Custard
We ate a lot and hopefully it was good enough to meet Courtney's standards.  We are so glad you came Courtney and we hope to do it again, maybe in the summer next time for your sake.

  1. This was such a fun weekend! I only wish I had been there longer. But, Milwaukie is definitely a place worth visiting again, in the summer. :)

  2. I wish I could've visited along with Courtney. Maybe I'll just save my Milwaukee trip for summertime. Don't worry about the picture at the altar--I've taken many photos behind altars at churches and hermitages (not cathedrals though, because those are usually blocked off) throughout Spain and have never felt bad about it.
