Back in May Tim and I took Max to a park. On our way home we drove by an adorable house that had a for sale sign. To me it looked like the most perfect quaint, little cottage and I loved it. It also has a 3.5 car garage so Tim loved it too. I had known for a few weeks that this was an area I would really like to live in. We pulled over, called the agent, and then called our agent to set up an appointment. We closed in July when Fitz was only 4 weeks old. There were some bumps along the way and I had some serious buyers remorse mixed with postpartum so it wasn't really a fun, happy time like I thought it would be. But on closing day, my birthday, as I cried through signing the papers, Tim gave me a much needed pep-talk and promised me he would make it all better. He would turn the house into what I wanted it to be. Well he has done a tremendous amount of work and has done it all after work and on weekends. When we moved in there were hardly any built in lights, the carpet was dark green shag, the walls had outdated wallpaper, the closets were impractical. Within the first week Tim took out the carpet, sanded the wood floors, stained them, took wallpaper off, patched the walls, and painted. Over the last three months he resealed the driveway, put in quarter round on the baseboards, and mapped out where to have an electrician install recessed lighting, painted all the ceilings, and cleaned out a bunch of junk the home kindly left for us. Then my brother came up and they tore a wall to fix a very weird closet and made it a great closet. I've focused more on things like picking paint color, wallpaper, decorations, you know the important stuff. Luckily I have some very design savvy friends who have helped me along the way.

We still have a ton of work to do like redo the kitchen, redo the bathroom floor, finish the basement, finish the attic, finish the garage, re-landscape the yard, etc. But I'm happy with what we've done so far. And I'm happy I have Tim around.
I love it! It makes me tired just reading about it all, go you guys! Congrats!
