Strange things are happening in our neck of the woods. Crime seems to be on the rise. Maybe it's the economy? Maybe it's because I live in the ghetto? We can't be quite sure what the answer is.
On Friday afternoon Max and I went to the grocery store. When we were in the produce section a man probably in his early 40s approached us and asked me how old Max is. Max is adorable so I get stopped in the store frequently :) I didn't think much of this man's inquiries and wasn't really even paying attention to him as he made faces with Max. About 30 minutes later Max and I were headed for the checkout aisle. The friendly man ran past us nicking me in the shoulder and our cart. He turned around and I swear he smiled at Max while he was in a full sprint. Then a store employee ran past us towards the man. Two more employees joined him in the chase. The man ran in out and of carts, people, lanes but no one caught him; he ran the entire length of the store. He pulled down a display to slow down his pursers and then threw down an elderly woman employee who ended up breaking her arm. Right by the exit doors he was finally tackled. It was so bizarre, the whole thing happened in almost silence. Everyone just froze and stared not believing what we were all seeing. No one yelled out "Stop that man" or anything like they do in the movies. I like to think he didn't throw us in his path because Max won him over with his smiles.
It was so dramatic I ended up buying Max this ball at the grocery store just to lighten the mood. I know he doesn't look happy but that is because he is nervous I will take it away from him.
Haha oh Anna, you always were a good detective. Remember "the evidence"? I LOVE Max's face in the picture with the ball, I wouldn't mess with him if I were you.
ReplyDeleteHoly cow--that's awesome! You're a real detective. Though, that could be a little scary. Anyways, Max is super cute. Hope you're doing great!
ReplyDeleteLet us know if you guys need a place to land in witness protection. I'm sure Tim would have tackled the guy had he been there.
ReplyDeleteWhat an exciting grocery store! Did you find out why he was on the run? Glad he had a soft spot for Max and didn't tackle you guys or anything. Yikes.
ReplyDeleteCha-chung (Law & Order sound). You are right in the thick of things there! Awesome!
